This app is maintained by Osaka Prefecture, and allows users to search information and photographs related to the mounded tombs that make up the Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group UNESCO World Heritage Site, and to view that map-linked information.
This app was developed by the research lab of Professor Hori at Faculty of Informatics, Kansai University, and released as the Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group Map App in April 2016, with the cooperation of the Conference Headquarters for the Promotion of Mozu-Furuichi Kofungun for World Cultural Heritage Inscription (Osaka Pref., Sakai City, Habikino City, Fujiidera City). In July 2019, the Kofun Group was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and an English version of the app was published by Prof. Hori’s lab, in order to spread the value of the cultural heritage to the rest of the world.On the basis of the above-mentioned map app enhanced with multilingual support, this app is elaborated by Osaka Prefecture in FY2021 with multilingual explanations in Japanese, English, traditional and simplified Chinese, and Korean. The provision of multilingual explanations was supported by the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ FY2020 Utilization of Cultural Resources Expenses Subsidy (Support for Multilingual Explanation Provision).
This app is provided as an in-browser online application and is available with an internet connection without any downloading or additional installation. This app can be used on PC, tablet, or smartphone. Please read the Terms of Use when using this app.
